... for the D'Agen prunes. Beautiful peaches and nectarines are plentiful and the toffee coated walnuts and salted caramel tarts are too hard to resist. We also enjoyed the dessert wines of Monbazillac as well as the local Bergerac wines which are predominently Merlot blends. The weather has been mid 20s most days - perfect for enjoying an aperitif on our terrace!!. What a sensational week we have ...

... cake was to die for and the kids ripped into their cupcakes! 31 July About 30km north of Brantôme is a lake - Étang de Saint-Estéphe – that Jo found advertised in one of the local tourist magazines. We wandered freely amongst the riders, taking pics, looking at the bikes, admiring the set-ups, and even gladly accepting free hats and chilled bidons from bmc's team managers who we were chatting to ! I never imagined we could get so close to the riders!, let alone meeting teejay van garderen, and tony Martin . The day was topped off by dinner in one of the beautiful squares and a drive home through deserted country roads. ...

Today we drove to Bergerac to see the finish of today's stage . Rain somewhat marred proceedings. But didn't stop the kids getting all excited over the caravan again!. We retreated to the car after the caravan had passed, until the riders came through. We stopped in carlux for dinner and were treated to another great sunset! A wet, but great ...
