... tombs. And scattered throughout town are several tombs. They're huge and look like large coffins or sarcophogi on top of square cut rocks. Many of them are carved to look like they're supported by wood beams, but they're all rock-cut. Most are from the 3rd to 4th century BCE. There's even one in the middle of an intersection in town. They just made it a mini roundabout.

... freezing cold river. A group of us, went for a walk up the George instead where you are encouraged to rub the mud into your skin after you've waded through thigh high freezing water.

Our hotel is very nice and puts on a decent buffet dinner each night. Although this buffet system here seems to be, they put the food out at 7pm and once it runs out, that's it. No replenishment and it's not kept warm.
