    ... loves riding the bus. I think it's the big windows that give him a bigger vantage than normal. He was glued to the window taking in the sights and calling out the vehicles he spotted. Initially I was disappointed having to add a bus ride to the itinerary, but since we opted not to drive it was the only way up.     This morning we head off to Hakone, about 80 min train ride away from Tokyo, to stay in a traditional Japanese inn (ryokan). Hakone is located in Japan's Fuji National Park known for hot spring resorts and Mt Fuji views. At least we are told there are good views of Mt Fuji, not that it ever made an appearance for us.     ... a hot soup of sliced pork and soba noodles which was much better than mine. After lunch we worked our way to the pier and got on the boat for a cruise on the lake. The cruise boat was shaped like a pirate ship which was fun. Mount Fuji had totally cleared up when we were on the boat which made for great view and great pictures.     ... guests seem to be here to enjoy the onsen facilities, you only have to site in the foyer - 90% are roaming around in yukatas (cottons dressing gown). The surrounding gardens are beautiful with 2 waterfalls and a small shrine. Cam and Omi had a soak in the hot tub and Celie is amused because when you open the toilet door the toilet lid automatically puts itself up and makes a sound like 'hi'.
