Finally we cross the state line and enter California. We stop off to visit Lake Tahoe. Its ever so nice. Pristine emerald and blue water surrounded by pine trees. What a beautiful place.
These mountain roads are something else, with scenery that is just breathtaking. We dont get into Redding till after 7pm, and find this really nice RV park off the highway and out of town. Doesnt take long to set up the tent, while Gerry is already set up with her camper van.
Not our usual Monday morning!...Sam trying to eject Lois from her bed and rush to the bus stop! Our morning started with a nice breakfast and then heading off towards the coast. All in all it was a great start to my trip with moments of irritation, tiredness, hunger, joy, and awkwardness all wrapped up into one day. ...
... that we were dying in our long sleeve shirts! Wasn't quite prepared for that. Will wear cooler clothes tomorrow and maybe even sandals. We looked pretty silly when we pulled into our spot in Redding today in our winter gear. The kids and most people were in shorts and t shirts and sandals. All they had to do was look at our license plate and understand our dress!
