... that i`ve already seen/done.
As for the flashpackers and flash hostels, i seem to have less and less time for people that don`t share my agenda and view. Why bother meeting them if you`re not going to head to the club afterwards or hit the same tours/sights? That sucks though....i suspect i`m getting jaded after this long travelling and need to head home so that i can fully re-appreciate the banalities of normal life and thus how interesting even the usual stuff and people out here are!
... technique and the traditional fire they use to create it is beyond belief. I ate approx 900kg of beef, and Anna even started eating bloody meat for the first time I can recall... because it's so good.
But enough about the steak.
The City itself is awesome, the European vibe is clearly evident, but it's SO cheap... so we took advantage of that. Every person we spoke to leading up to ...
... Plus the cup makes a nice ornament as it will go with the colours in the kitchen. We waited for Fifi's bus to arrive and then we all headed back over to our hotel to get some lunch at Rocco's. They must have noticed how much time we spend there as they asked for Ismael's details and said he could be a "preferred client" which would give him 10% off any food and drink. We had a nice long lunch and a few drinks then went to the shopping centre so I ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina oldhamguy... Distinctly different than any wonderful European city, Buenos Aires is filled with parillas (steakhouses) offering the finest cuts of succulent beef served up with a delectable bottle of Malbec. Argentina is a culture that greatly values family and the weekly asado (family barbecue) is another distinct Argentine pleasure. I was able to enjoy a hostel asado later during my time in Argentina, but was not fortunate ...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina chiapoe... daily. It seems as if the need to protest has become a common way of life for some Argentinians, though rooted to valid causes. For example; the state of the economy (bad for at least 10 years I can say!) and the marches by mother's and grandmothers - for sons and daughters kidnapped and killed by the 70's military junta - seeking justice and retribution; without any concession from the government in sight. From our less meaningful perspective; these ...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina atullgupta... in IPA: [alfa'xoɾ] ; plural alfajores) is a traditional cookie of Argentina, found also in some regions of Spain and in countries of Latin America like Mexico, Uruguay and Perú. Its basic form consists of two round sweet biscuits joined together with dulce de leche or jam and covered with powdered sugar. In ...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina sedebrouillier... Aside from the million or so people crowded on the beach (with the tide moving about 200m through the day) we had to adjust our body clocks to sleeping in the day and partying in the night until 9 in the morning. Nick saw 3 sunrises in the 5 days there. Dave and his friend Juan were the perfect hosts and party boys, we spent the early part of NY eve with Juan's family for Octopus, then BBQ´ed White Salmon with Rockefort cheese. From there we ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina redstar27... craze (music, mullets and mini skin tight jeans) began a couple years earlier and since then everybody and everywhere does it or plays it. What´s old is really new i guess. Among many of the friends Gabriel introduced us to, Josh - a dude from Washington, D.C.- ended up partying with us for the rest of the night. He is travelling S. America for a few weeks, and all through the night (more so the later it got), he felt the need to discuss or bring up his "ex ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina vickima... the word for birthday and would then mention 'Boca?', bouncer says no, 'San Telmo?' bouncer says no.... he mentions every football team in Argentina until the bouncer agrees with him that that´s the best team and let´s us in. Serious gift of the gab if you can blag with out the language!!! We did have to get a move on though from BA. poor Avril arrived on day 6 when we were all slowly burning out so she didn´t get to experience the full impact but I think she still had a good time.
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina ainekerrigan... tango lessons, followed by a 3 course meal while watching a professional tango show. Sounded good.
We were the last couple to be collected and then the bus took us into the heart of ...
