So we leave Salt Lake City behind us. Love this place and would definitely visit again. On our way to San Francisco via Reno and Lake Tahoe. It's a long drive so we'll probably stop off somewhere along the way. Stopped off at Bonneville to check out the salt flats. As you can see, it's under water. Glen is devastated, as I am. ... in California was pleasant as we traveled through pine forests, and even at the higher elevations over “Donner Pass” the scenery was enjoyable. However, entering the Nevada mountains the scenery changed to a brown and barren landscape, and the ride east became very boring. We stopped for the night in the town “Battle Mountain” at “Clark Park”. As we set up camp at 6:00 PM the temperature is 102 degrees.
