We stopped off at Wendover for lunch and headed off again on our way to San Francisco. I took over driving not far out of Wendover, Glen was feeling a bit tired. He's done 99% of the driving. ... in California was pleasant as we traveled through pine forests, and even at the higher elevations over “Donner Pass” the scenery was enjoyable. However, entering the Nevada mountains the scenery changed to a brown and barren landscape, and the ride east became very boring. We stopped for the night in the town “Battle Mountain” at “Clark Park”. As we set up camp at 6:00 PM the temperature is 102 degrees.
