Left Tewkesbury and caught 8 o'clock bus to Cheltenham and had breakfast at wetherspoons before catching coach at 10.15 (1st May). Arrived at Heathrow in good time. All went smoothly and checked in at airport in good time. Flight went 15 minutes late but still arrived 15 minutes early in Beijing (2nd May) at 9.15. ... Having eaten and bought our scarves we went back to the hostel, stopping for a drink in the bar on our way to bad. This was yet another interesting experience as we walked in and instead of a barman there was a huge white dog behind the bar! After this was rectified with the addition of a man, we were served our drinks and settled in to the sofas to relax.
