Following our excitement on Saturday, we were looking for a calmer day. Alison and I planned to walk to the Suzhou Silk Museum. It has received several favorable reviews on TripAdvisor. ... than I was aware. We had our maps and GPS though so set off walking to Suzhou museum and the Humble Administrator's Garden. On the way we stopped at an art gallery which had a great mix of works from war to landscape and people and the place, although small, was genuinely interesting and thought provoking. A short bus ride followed by a quick walk brought us to the entrance of the famous Suzhou gardens. Vicky explained that in Chinese gardens there is a natural flow between architectural structures and plants. ... back at the hotel for a quick turnaround as booked to see a Kung Fu show tonight. This was astounding. About 30 people doing a London type show of Kung Fu. Back to the hotel after for a big surprise. The whole group sitting round waiting for me with a birthday cake and candles. They all sang and it was very embarrassing.
