... the outer condition of their homes. In fact, the only time many of them are painted or repaired is when the building it first completed. After that, no attention is paid to it. However, the interior is often the rival of 5 star hotels, even out in the more rural areas. It’s just a different mindset.

The juxtaposition between the new construction and the rubble in the same city block is something to behold

A new ...
Suzhou, Jiangsu, China dabrander... street garbage collection hut. Just past the hut a group of children wait for the bus to pick them for school. They begin jumping and waving as we approach, shouting 'Hello', or ‘Good Morning'. We slow down as we try to get through the crowd gathered in front of the local Tim Hortons. It's not a real Tim Hortons, but a vendor who has baked a variety of breads, pastries, and cakes. She sells them from her ...
Suzhou, Jiangsu, China loisal99Suzhou

It is gloriously warm in Suzhou as we make our way to the central park. We find ourselves in "pet shop alley". I am tickled by a minah bird outside a shop which greets us with “Ni hao”, We understand the ”Hello,” but unfortunately can't follow the rest of the bird’s chat. We meander past the fish tanks and flower sellers but then, unfortunately, our route takes us out of the pedestrian area ...

Tuition for the Chinese students is 2000RMB for the year (about $300CAN). Tuition for the BC students is 80000RMB for the year (about $12000CAN). The goal of all of the BC students, and the reason they come ...

Suzhou, Jiangsu, China chinachopsticks... still under construction at that time. It was cool to see it again today and see the finished product. After visiting Pan Gate we went to Suzhou's No.1 Silk Factory. I thought geez, another tourist trap. It definitely wasnÂÃÂft. I really enjoyed it. It has a museum dedicated to silk and shows its production methods which were very interesting. It also had people working ...
Suzhou, China scottshangguan... exp bag is worth so many cheap flyff gold. 3 Be a patriarch of a family(the most crazy golds-gaining method). I guess that now the craziness of golds-gaining by a patriarch is well known by each player. A patriarch can use happiness token in the family senate mission. The effect of the token is that ...
Suzhou, Jiangsu, China shaoting... was there as intended flavoring. It was a Cockroach. A rather small one, but nevertheless, a cockroach. Our server had very little to comment on the matter, other than the fact that "It's dead." Ha! We decided to put off discussing exactly which all diseases we'd just contracted from our dinner, but needless to say our meal was coming to a close. As we were getting ready to leave, I asked our server what animal the hand belonged to. He laughed ...
Suzhou, China jess.joy... university like NYU (which most students could not afford). I hook back up with the group for a late-night supper at the Italian Pasta Restaurant. (Marco Polo would be smiling.) My spaghetti and meat sauce taste similar to what you would eat at an Olive Garden so it's not great, but not bad either. And tonight there is an extra bonus as the AC has been turned on. It does the trick removing much of the humidity from my bedroom allowing me to sleep better.
Suzhou, China robert_obrien... a world heritage type thing, and a major China attraction (there is a chinese proverb which goes: In heaven there is paradise, on earth Suzhou and Hangzhou). You wander about in them and feel all relaxed and its next to impossible not to be able to get at least a few arty shots. We managed to get to "The Lingering Garden" and "The garden of the master of the nets ...
