    ... Szczecin. The city was originally in German territory and called 'Stettin', but after WW2 it was given to Poland, who in turn changed the city name to something completely unpronounceable.

    At this point, that's all I have to report. More pictures to follow once I get a german cell phone sorted out. Having T-mobile and Lebara sim cards sent here so I'll see which gets the best coverage.     Another RE train ride took us to Chorin - the site of a ruined monastery which you can walk along a clearly marked trail from the station through some woods to get to. Again, very pretty location where, during the summer, you can attend concerts. Now tell me that a monastery isn't a great place for that :)
