... after a cruise through the Great Sandy Straight and Fraser Island, acting as Mother Ship for the Bay to Bay sailing race. We stayed a few days in Kingfisher Bay on Fraser island, having a run-in with a pair of dingoes, and hiking 11km each way to a beautiful lake on this huge sand island. ... lang, zu lang! Ich wollte endlich im Flieger sitzen. Mit jedem Kilometer mehr Abstand zu Magdeburg wurde die Vorfreude und Abenteuerlust größer. Im Flugzeug konnte ich dann auch gute 7 Stunden schlafen und dann waren es nur noch 2 Stunden bis Singapur. Nach einem 2-stündigen Aufenthalt ging es dann weiter nach Brisbane. BRISBANE! Oh man, endlich...! Leider konnte ich keine 5 Minuten mehr schlafen, vielleicht die Aufregung ...

... tourist attraction and he preaches the good of animals and conservation all through the place. You cant help falling for it in a good way. I spend my day visiting Koalas (adorable), Snakes, Elephants, Tigers, Emus, Turtles and the best of all Kangaroos. They are tame roos roaming free and you can buy roo food for 50cents. I grab a pack and spend ages sitting with them and feeding them out of my hand, its brilliant. I love it so much I buy more food and go back later. I ...

So i'm not sure if there's a whole lot to say with our extravaganza of surfing, you really had to be there...besides that we both surfed like mofos! I am getting a wee bit better. ... a great day out, the talks were funny and interesting and there was alot to do and see to fill the day up. I even feed an elephant which was so cool. Being back at the seaside ive had chance to go walks along the sea front again, which is so nice.

We left Brisbane in the warm and bright sunshine and drove through the quite steady city traffic northwards. Through the extensive city suburbs until we continued on the 'Bruce Hwy M1', a mostly two lane road that was busy with Sunday travelers. The wide coastal plain had several small forests along it and hills in the inland distance. The hwy ran inland from the coast and there were hardly any glimpses of the sea but at least the fields weren't quite as brown as we had ...

... pitää varmaan käydä kysyyn tuolta asuntolan johdolta josko saisin olla pari ekstra päivää ettei tarttis hätäillä minkään kans. Loppuajan sit oon varmaan Gold Coastilla tai Brisbanessa, pitää nyt kattoo. Marika mietti, et se vois yrittää löytää jotain farmitöitä pariks viimeseks viikoks ja kokeilla kestääkö sen allergiat sitä työtä. Siellä se pystyis hiukan tienaan rahaa thaimaata varten mikä ei varmaan yhtään haittais :)

... the usual backpackers place, but they were all full. Jen worked it again and got us a nice discount at a more upscale place than we had stayed at, well, probably our whole trip. It was ultra convenient with a washer, a dryer (practically unheard of in this country), a dishwasher, and our own bathroom! We were so inspired by our luxury we even watched tv for the first time in along time. After cooking up a great lamb, big salad, and shiraz meal we were glad to sprawl in our giant bed.

Hello, Spent the last few days in the relaxed beachside town of Mooloolaba, however the main reason for stopping off here was to visit Australia Zoo which is about 20km inland. Yesterday, we headed out to the zoo on one of the courtesy buses that runs from most of the nearby beachside resorts and half an hour later we were ready for an action packed day.
