    ... out of the way of the bicyclists (not as easy as it sounds), watching for vehicles as well as trains, crossing the street is an adventure we just don't have here, even downtown Vancouver. Sabrina was overwhelmed by it and petrified that she'd be hit by a bicycle .. a real possibility, though generally they ring their bells and avoid you, but the glare is withering if you are in their bike lane.     ... day would bring the highlight of the cruise excursions -- Meteora Monasteries, a full 2 hour drive inland from the port to the Pindos Mountains. The scenery en route was unremarkable, but the monasteries were worth every moment spent getting to them. Whether the translation of Meteora is "middle of the sky" or "suspended in the air" the imagery fits equally. There are six monasteries built on sandstone rock pillars in central Greece.
