    ... fatigued by the end of each weekday. Saturday's were not much better. These were also days of work – home work. House cleaning, laundry, shopping and completing school work dominated much of our Saturdays. My brother and I were raised to do our fair share of housework. We could not exit the apartment until our chores were complete – to Mom’s full satisfaction.

    ... surrounding cities. The building used to be a storage facility for irrigation pipes of an adjacent tomato farm. Following a fire at the original post office in 1953, the building was converted into the current small facility. I can imagine the queue is better than our local post offices though. We jumped back in the car and headed towards Coopertown Boat Tours. Beforehand though we stopped at Kirby Boardwalk. This was a pier walk that goes into the Everglades. ...

    ... water and alligators. We saw so many as we drove along this route. We wanted to stop but there wasn't a place to pull over until the Oasis Visitor Center in the Big Cypress National Preserve. What a great place! We walked out on the boardwalk and had a direct view down into a pond area loaded with alligators. It was fascinating watching them up so close.
