We are certainly settling into our Brazilian lifestyle very well. No Sydney rush hour traffic, no school lunches to prepare, no crazy after school activity schedule. Of course it's not all sand castles and mangoes but it's close!
The 5 of us are living in pretty close quarters in a 'granny flat' under the main house. It is really comfortable and Mamae went all out filling it with new bedding, towels, TV, DVD ...

... you. We were charmed with it all and were probably the only Aussie visitors they will have had. We celebrated Tiffs 40th birthday there spending the morning on a beach which was a long as the eye could see and we had it all to ourselves. The water was beautiful and tropically warm and a nice relief to the heat of the day. We had lunch in the village café which is on the verandah of one of the locals house where he usually feeds ...
During the weekend my family, my 2 uncles Hugo and Duda, their wives and their nephew Phillipe and I went camping at Barra Do Mamaguape. We had to go on a three hour road trip!!! On the way we stopped for Tapioca (a traditional food from North East Brazil) on the old country road, I had my usual bacon and cheese with a can of my Brazilian favourite soft drink, Guaraną. ... It was a great weekend!On Monday morning I woke up as a six year old, with a different look! (Do you like my funny picture?) I got a soccer ball, two Brazilian soccer tops, a pair of soccer boots and shin pads. After some school work and lunch we went for some delicious chocolate birthday cake at a cafe called 'Fresh Cake'. Then I went to my Jujitsu class. It was a really different birthday. I love being six!
