... down the countryside became greener, and the livestock returned to sheep and cows. At a village called Gulpinar we stopped for icecream and some other supplies. We saw signs to one of the ancient sights situated in the village and went to visit it, the ruins of Apollon Smitheon, a 2nd century BC temple to Appolo and Smitheon (Lord of the Mice). The site is still being excavated, but has some very good carved and inscribed relics. We set off ...
It's cold this morning only 15 degrees! The heater will soon warm us up!

We visit the beach cemetery, Anzac Cove, the Memorial site, Lone Pine Cemetery etc. It is really interesting to get a feel for the place - especially as next year will be ...

And it was back to the buffet for dinner .... Grrrrr. So disappointing after the local cuisines at the restaurants at Patmos. The weather has closed in and it's very fresh and it's been raining a bit. Went for a walk along the beach which is like many European beaches ... Rocky and stony. Assos ...
