... so I went and knocked on Jean's curtain door. He appeared and we told him the bed broke and that we wouldn't be coming back tonight. He looked like he might've cried. He didn't understand why we wouldn't stay, he would fix the bed for us...then he ******! And just like the presence of the other guests, we all pretended it didn't happen.

Today was a good day exploring Vermont. We saw lots of great covered bridges. Designed like this to stop the bridges getting icy and also to preserve their longevity. We stopped at the Bridge of Flowers, saw glacial potholes, iconic white churches and generally some beautiful driving. No festival in Woodstock but enjoying the tranquil town! Next stop New ...

We ordered a pancake each which was more than enough. We resisted a stack of 2 or 3 pancakes. The pancakes were quite thick, about 1 cm thick but they were as big as a dinner plate. Ian had a blueberry one and I had an apple and cinnamon one. After that Ian and I ...

... of New York State and saw some snow on one of the mountains (Mt Marcy perhaps?). Home down the Interstate which was much quicker than our earlier journey. Lin's parents and brother came to dinner so we had home cooked baked beans (in maple syrup which were very yummy), cooked ham, coleslaw and then I had cooked a pavlova for dessert. Not quite my best ever pavlova but it was received well and perhaps Lin will ave to cook one again ...
