... to the coach and on to Venice. Arrived at the coach park and were transferred onto water taxis with our luggage. The taxi then took us for a trip around the Grand Canal before depositing us at the Carlton opposite the train station.

Not really impressed with it however, the rooms are tiny and we are overlooking a concrete courtyard.

... to be flowing from left to right. When you stand in the center, the river appears to flow from top to bottom and when you stand on the left side the river appears to flow from right to left. Such clever people, I can not imagine how they did that. There was a similar tapestry in the Vatican Museum.

Tunnel after tunnel we went through. We were then into more open countryside where the Italians grow their rice. They are harvesting now and the crops look pretty good. Arrived at the Italian Lakes and our amazing hotel - the Grand Hotel Dino. Great views across the lake and ...

... the previous day, and felt a closer look was needed. The road wound up the mountain top, and even though TT and the road signs indicated we could drive further, didn't. Thank heavens.
Walked up, around and through the castello. As with all these structures, a battered and blodied history. Its in an ongoing state of restoration, but still worth the visit. After paying our entry fee, there were no other tourists, so our blackened tongues didn't matter.
