... my ticket to leave from Fortaleza rather than having to get back to Salvador) and eating some amazing seafood.

One evening, we happened upon Fortaleza's pier. It felt very British in an odd way as I assumed the pier was a singularly British phenomenon, but the Brazilians seemed to be enjoying it just as much. While walking around we saw various colonial buildings in various states of disrepair - much to Antonio's disgust. A country so focussed on its future means ...
Fortaleza, State of Ceara, Brazil hudan... lon.
Fortaleza, Brazil perec... because she was only 22 years old. We later discovered that it is quite common for girls of 12 or 11 to make a living as prostitutes. Who are their customers? European tourists. The police are fully aware of this. When Brazilians try and do something about it, it is they not the Europeans who are persecuted by the police. They dont bring Euros with them. Fortaleza is not a nice place.
Fortaleza, Brazil jungleboyThe historic old colonial town of Olinda provides a welcome contract to the bustling modern city of Recife. Although it was originally the centre of power for the prosperous sugar plantation owners in the 18th century it was eventually overshadowed by the rise of Recife as a modern port. Today, Olinda is the cultural counterpart to its neighbouring commercial centre and is a much more pleasant place to stay. It has a beautiful setting on a hill ...
Canoa Quebrada, Brazil thymeoff... and drinking... Then taking some beers back to the pousada and continuing drinking there, sat outside in the most incredible calmness!! My god, this is the life! Nothing to do and long days stretching ahead to spend doing exactly that - but somehow, the most perfect version of nothing to do in the calmest (and on the beach, definitely most tranquil) setting imaginable! England feels a million miles away, the British lifestyle feels a million miles away!! Carina xxxxx
Paracuru, Brazil c_jonesyat the rist of understatement...Jericoacoara is a most unique place - replete with major sand dunes, unique hip vibe, local mysticism, clandestine entry, kilometers of beach tide racing, multiple balsa rides (video to be released soon) and an undeniable pleasure of sand streets - it is as difficult to leave this place as it is to find it.... for now...we have pictures -
Jericoacora, Brazil delfuegoproject... of my sickness that made me stay an extra day in Fortaleza). We were comedy magnets. This time it was a R$5 cover charge for the comedy, and again I didn´t understand a word and spent the hour trying to digest my dinner, again notably the only person not laughing. Alex insisted on paying my cover charge because I didn´t understand anything and sat through the show getting more and more frustrated by my inability to communicate with everyone. I had only planned ...
Fortaleza, Brazil camille... o.
