... I needed to be – the LP map shows the airport to be 6km away
but took over an hour, standing up the whole way.
Was hot (in my jeans) and tired, despite my ½ kilo of buffet
lunch – the ordeal with the buses and shopping the 4 floors of the market took
it out of me so treated myself to a taxi back. For once, happy to get back into
... also quite windy which meant I could have a go at kite surfing. I had a 2 hour lesson whilst Helen dutifully took photos. My instructor told Helen I was pretty good and I have to say I agree, I was good, so that is now on the 'to learn' list once home. After all the hard work of taking photos, Helen decided she deserved a bit of R&R so had a 40 minute massage which she loved. That's pretty much Fortaleza. Next stop....... Jericoacoara H & R ...
New place new friends. Fortaleza was cool because right when I got there we went out. Some Chileans brought a big bottle of pisco and before you know it we all were riding happy on the way to pink elephant. It's a popular expensive night club they have here in Brazil. ... be the cheapest thing we could find but also right by the Fan Fest. We went to pick up our Holland v Mexico game tickets (oh yes we got them!!!) and then headed to one of the many beach bars to watch the game. 30 degrees here so we decided the Fan Fest in the sun may not be the best option for us gringos. The bar we chose was great and packed full of locals all out in their colours to watch the game. It was a great atmosphere and a tense match with Brazil scoring ...
