... spot for a picnic and looks strangely like Lake Louise in Canada - also a stunningly beautiful place where we had no time to stop and enjoy and will need to return to one day! Our evening meal was a bowlful of Yanna and Steve’s vegetables from their garden - lucky us - fresh and healthy! Can’t wait to go back and Yanna and Steve even suggested a house exchange in future - bring it on I say but of course only if our tenants approve ;-)

... only country where the seas are higher than the Alps? In keeping with our earlier experience this day, we saw no elephants but lots of big rocks. Possibly some form of hallucinogenic is required. 30 kms down and a morning tea stop. I found it after running uphill from the site for a mile and came across a recently converted train track. It's not train track all the way cos we kept seeing it as we drove up the Waitaki Valley where it is still being finished off in places. It makes a great running track and I wasn't alone this ...

Another nice morning to wake up to and to up camp and head north to Omarama some 179 km north and a stopping point on the way to Christchurch. A few stops on the way though. First was Arrowtown. An historic mining town and I swear you think you were back in the Wild West without the 'wild'. It was a really lovely place with nice shops to browse around and a good place for a coffee. Many of the street names were after welsh towns such ...

... than the Chinese food at home.

Next was an action packed day, we had booked the Skydive for early in the morning and intended to do the bungee in the afternoon. It all started well with a bacon, egg and cheese roll before heading out to the Skydive place, I wasn't to nervous and just went with the flow, it was a great help that once in the aeroplane you didn't get much choice as guy I was attached was going regardless. It was a great experience, all the way from ...
