... leave our comfort zone of Safranbolu and head for Amasra on the Black Sea coast. We are staying in a very simple little Pension where no English is spoken. But it is clean and if we sleep with the window open we will hear waves crashing on the rocks below and hopefully not the chanting of the nearest Imam.

... music being played. It is crowded with locals and tourists alike. We decide to try a cup of Turkish coffee. It is being heated in little metal pots for a prescribed amount of time by the female barrista. The cups are small but the coffee is very strong. We learn that when drnking coffee, it should be followed by glass of water and then by a smaller glass of dark fruit syrup. All served together on a silver platter.

Near our destination we stopped at an amazing gorge named “Ihlara gorge”. See the photos. It looked so unspoilt - maybe not a common tourist destination. During our ride, we will be visiting again.
