... the castle, where I stop for coffee. It's very steep and my legs are feeling it. I carry on and eventually come out at tiny little lakeside town. It's a beautiful (though a bit difficult) walk with magnificent views of the lake from up high. More photos. Back down lakeside, I head back towards Varenna. I stop at Hotel Villa Cipressi for late lunch. Spaghetti with duck ragu and porcini mushrooms. ...

Tuesday is that day that Bar Sport is closed, so we weren't able to have our obligatory coffee there. Instead we made our way to the ferry terminal and headed for the village of Menaggio (that's MENAGGIO, MENAGGIO for Paul). Unfortunately most of the lunch places along the lake were closed still and so we found a ...

Daylight savings began today and Sue happened to put her clock forward 2 hours and had everything packed by 6am before realising that it was very quiet outside.
We left Innsbruck and made our way towards Bellagio with the GPS sending us via St Moritz. Of course Lou was a bit worried about whether the road would be open all the way and how Sophie would cope. This was the quickest way and cut out about 2 hours so we took the gamble.
The driving between mountains was ...

... one and had a 45min trip to Chiasso where my Great Aunty Anita and Great Uncle Michel picked us up! So exciting and absolutely wonderful to see them both. We're staying with them in Lugano (Switzerland) for 3 nights. I'm practicing my Italian of course and so we've had no English at all- when I do slip in a little because I'm not sure of something, they help if they know what I'm trying to say, and then it's straight back to Italian! Lee is picking Italian up really well too- ...
