    ... the ice was almost gone. At the short there were still some ice sheets with a thickness of approx. half a meter! We took many photos, but then it was really required to warm up, because not everyone had brought a jacket to visit Russia... :D Later we did some souvenir shopping and visited the rocket monument as Samara has a big space program.

    To make it short: on Saturday night we had a crazy party with Russian, Indian and German guys and Sunday ...

We were greeted with friendliness from the villagers who were simple, nomadic peoples.     ... he then took back to his hometown to paint. I hope I have the right name for the painter, some beautiful examples of his artwork displayed. Our ride back to Samara was via a private boat, a classy little number which was a slightly quicker ride than the ferry. Although good fun I think we were all focused on keep warm and dry!!     I think I have pretty much covered off on the train journey from Aralsk to Samara in my previous posts....meeting the locals, drinking beer in the dining cart, breaking down the language barriers etc. We arrive in Samara late in the evening and make our way to our lovely hotel.
