... Our destination was Curra Country Club. Well, Curra is in the country, they had a club and that was about it. But we still parked up at the back and had a peaceful night free camping, waking up to a misty dawn.

Next stop Petrie Park at Tiaro, down by the Mary River. What a fantastic spot. It was scenic, shady, RV friendly and had the bonus of the river where I had the privilege to paddle in ...

Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia madnomads...
Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia pacificocean... by workmates that they may disappear my passport to try and entice me to stay...

Of course, a trip by me wouldn't be complete without something forgotten or misplaced, so hopefully this is the worst to happen... After painstaikingly keeping a copy of all my hotel and transport bookings in Australia on my computer, I proceeded to leave work without printing them out so am relying on my memory (which I have learnt is not all the good) as to ...
Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia kroppy11... for the much more reasonable price of $22 per night. Which sounded great, until I started setting up said tent, and realised that the 'tent' site had half an inch of soil covering what amounted to solid rock. Ever tried to drive tent pegs into solid rock? Moving on, the weather has been silly, with cloud promising rain storms one minute, then bright sun the next, with gusty winds splattered in between. The shopping centre entrance is wedged ...
Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia wayfaring... a godsend for Steven - endless Bob the Builder!), a separate table for dining at, separate rooms for shower, toilet and handbasin area, ironing board, a kitchenette and a salt water swimming pool. Internet on the expensive side though! The trip to the rum factory was excellent. We saw the molasses well, the stills ...
Bundaberg, Australia yvonne.stoweA great fishing place on the estury of the Burrum river, north of Hervey Bay we only stayed two nights due to (once again) SANDFLIES. Did have a go at fishing though one evening, the little ones were biting, I asked Marc to hold the rod while I opened a tinny, next thing the rod was snatched out of her hand, not to be ...
Burrum Heads, Queensland, Australia marciaderek... antibiotic, one which was so strong that it burnt the sh*t out of my vein (jungle juice), Panadine Forte every six hours and two shots of morphine. (OMG!) That night my temp was up, my BP was up, my Pulse rate was rapid, even the morphine did not knock me out. Not till the next day and then I was a zombie till Sunday morning. Come Monday morning the excess fluid was going down but the lymph was still enlarged; I was wheeled off to Pathology again for more pictures and a needle ...
Port Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia nancyjean... to us normal folk!) which is better pay ($1 a bucket before tax), has better farmers/supervisors and I soon discovered, a much better team of people. It was still 5:30am wake ups which is so tough for me but it was getting easier! My first few days were a little tough, not only due to the extreme pain in my lower back from bending to pick the capsicums, bruises and arm ache from hefting the more than 10 kilo bucket onto my shoulder and taking ...
Bundaberg, Australia hollister... of them and so it took longer to search for them! Grrrr! We finished about 1:15 so it wasn't a long day and I had collected a grand total of (I think!) 11 buckets in 7 hours. Great hourly rate huh?! Keeping in mind if they think you have too many 'green' or 'red' ones then you don't get paid for the whole bucket. Seriously, who thinks these things up?! So, it's the bucket boys we have to keep sweet. Yes, the bucket boys from Bundaberg. You know, the ...
