... a similar trap as Venice and although this was a local place being end of season I don't think the effort was really there and we felt a little bit let down for our €40.

After lunch it was back to the villas to spend our last hours in the sun reading our books and updating this blog. Just as the sun was setting our transfer arrived and we were off again to the airport where we would have to say goodbye to the warmth but not before a 45 minute delay for the plane.

... sitting in the doorway of a small church and as we greeted him, he invited us to see his church. It was a private family church in which he was doing some repairs and he told us that the church had been built around 1700 and wanted to show us a special painting hanging there. ... but this was Patrick's first time. It was fun to see them both squirm when the small fish started nibbling at their feet. After rejoining the ladies and indulging in some gelato, we ended the evening with a spectacular sunset dinner in a restaurant located on one of Fira's highest points. Once again, the ambience, the views and the sunset were simply magnificent. It was another perfect Santorini "chamber of commerce" day.

After Fira, I went back to my room and on the balcony to watch the sunset. The island is known for their amazing sunsets, especially Oia, a town 20 minutes away. Everyone says Oia's sunsets are the best in the world, but the view from my deck, of the sun setting behind was breathtaking. After the sunset, I went out for dinner. ... photos, then climbed down the other side. We got a bit lost, but eventually found ourselves back on the pedestrian road near our hostel. My stomach was growling ridiculously loud, so Jess took the hint that it was lunch time, and we found an extremely cheap cafe.
