... 8.5 knot proportion, heeling right over, bouncing over the waves, tearing across the north Ionian sea like a madboat. Fan-tas-tic! We reached our evening berth, Lakka, back on Paxos, at about 5pm. Lakka is a really lovely little town - would really recommend this (and Paxos) as a holiday destination. It is a sheltered bay on the north of Paxos with adorable shops and tavernas and is one of the prettiest places we have visited. On our penultimate day we travelled 26.7 nautical ...

There were a tremendous amount of vehicles waiting for the ferry, as the earlier ferry had been delayed from the weather. It was organized chaos when the vehicles boarded the ferry.

After a short wait at the port, we loaded onto the ferry for our 1.5 hour ride to Corfu.

There were a number of people that boarded the ferry with only luggage and no vehicle. The ferry staff placed this luggage ...

... and begin the Llogaraja Pass, this is when it gets really interesting. Once in the mountains the landscape is stunning out of both sides of the bus. I didn't know which way to look as the bus winds it's way up the mountain, you can see down into the valley below or up at the mountain tops rising up to the sky like a fortress reaching for the heavens. The glass of the bus windows are not well maintained so trying to capture the views with my camera are ...

    ... At the edge of
the old city there was a main road that reminded me of Brunswick, back in the
sixties. Unassuming little shops, magnificent plaques (that we couldn’t read)
and more coffee houses than we have in Melbourne.

When in Corfu, do as the corfuans do – sit in a sidewalk
coffee and watch the people walk by.
We had two ice coffees each and tried to decide which way will lead us back to the bus.
