Brilliant start.....

... and they pretty much kicked him off, the jobsworth facist women-haters. We were quite depressed with ourselves considering we then had to pay out another £76 to get down to London, but I guess if this is the worst of our travel cock-ups for a seventh moneht world trip I guess we should 'quit the *****in....'

Love Spoons

... tradidionally given by the man to his lady friend as a sign of love and devotion.

Tonight we're staying in Bala - a lakeside town, known for it's watersports and prehistoric fish that inhabit the lake! Dinner was at a pub (for something new!) and we enjoyed Steak and Brains stout pies - Brains is a beer brewed in Cardiff that Josh is enjoying - he is also getting into the Magners and Bulmers ciders!

Rocky

... 8am. It took us getting on for three hours to drive across to Wales and find the right place to park. The rock itself is a few minutes walk from the farmhouse where we left the car. We took the dog and the picnic and wandered over to the base of the cliff where the others had already started climbing.

Canal Boat trip-Fabulous

... we had breakfast and left by 9:15 and by the time we had dinner on the way home it was 8:00 PM. Gordon never complains and we are so pleased with his touring us.

On the way home from the canal trip we took a sight seeing trip to Angelssy which is North West of Wales and is a separate island. It is a lovely sea village with many boats.

Again no internet access today-sorry folks!

Parade along the way!

... and shooting pictures of the beautiful waterfront and castle. I set about shopping and I have had fun doing that on the trip! Here is a photo of the castle as well as a photo of the view from our room. We have a room in a cottage instead of the main house this time and it is very nice. Tomorrow we are headed to Snowdonia Park in the mountains.

There is no internet access so I hope to post these next two entries soon!

Conwy Castle

... There is one small area torn down for the modern roadway, and another small area un-walkable by the train-tracks. Walking high over the roof tops gave us a unique perspective of the city.

Wandering the streets we found some wonderful Cornish pasties to lunch on, as well as some English cheeses for dinner (Stilton, Cheshire, and Welsh Cheddar).

Managed to get up the tremendous hill without stopping today ...

Cymru: pronounced "Kum-Ree"

It was amazing to drive out of the forests in the pouring rain. It was raining so hard that the already frantic speed of the wind shield wipers wasn't fast enough for Ed to see the road too clearly. Nonetheless we safely reached the highway on our way further north, to the tip of Wales. We had heard about a mighty castle in the medieval walled town of Conwy, on the banks of River Conwy. Ed and I had vowed to keep away from castles ...

Wales watching

... you didn't need any locks or keys, and where we met a woman who claimed to be a medium and an author. She was ghost-writing a book about another medium, who foresaw that she herself would be the world's most famous medium, and would make profitable movie about her life. The author had negotiated not a flat fee for payment for the biography, but rather a percentage of all royalties. I hope that works out for her! I mentioned that Wales is a separate country. In Britain, there ...
