... It was 35 degrees and humid – who knew? I had, in my ignorance, assumed that it was always dry in the Middle East. By 11 the next morning it was already 45 degrees – relentless!

Our fellow Colombo-bound passenger told us on the plane that the sleeping pod was horrible so we shouldn’t complain. I now have to somehow claim the money back for the already paid for Negombo accommodation! ...

On our tour we went to a number of places, the Heritage Museum, King’s palace, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, ...

We spent some weekends at Saadiyat beach and at Al Raha hotel pool as we got a load of groupon vouchers to use the gym there!

The photos will speak for themselves really, but we did A LOT of ...

... We had gorgeous weather in the 80s each day, and unusually clear blue skies, not occluded by the typically ubiquitous dust storms. White fluffy clouds made for a perfect outing. I just didn’t expect to see something like that in the middle of the desert!

Lory also has a rooftop terrace at her villa, so I led a little yoga class on the roof in the healing sunshine. I know money can’t buy happiness, but GAWD, what a contrast to return to poor, wet, ...
