... the best pizza you ever have had and ever will have. This is your last day in Italy. You came back to Naples specifically to eat at this pizzeria."<br><br>Yep, I ordered a second pizza. The waiter asked if I wanted him to make it a small margherita. I said, "Nah." literally while I had a fork raised carrying a bite from my prima pizza. I ate both of those pizzas and I was so happy. I had also had a hefty beer. Needless to say I slept the entire train ride from Naples to Rome.<br>
Naples, Campania, Italy josiezim... to see EVERYTHING. The coast, Capri, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Vesuvius -- everything. I'm sure you won't be shocked to read that Pompeii received the only check mark. I have plenty of excuses for why that was but I have no regrets. And it doesn't hurt having a reason to want to return to Italy. As if I was lacking one!<br><br>Pompeii was amazing. (Quick side note, I am utterly confused whether it's Pompei or Pompeii. It's one of those ...
Sorrento, Campania, Italy josiezimTomorrow morning we catch a train for Sorrento. We will be there for 4 nights. We will take day trip to Amalfi, but we will not be staying at the hotel there. Joe and I decided that our stay on the Amalfi coast will be more enjoyable if we do not change hotels , so we extended our stay at the hotel in Sorrento, and cancelled the one in Amalfi. Just wanted to let everyone know in case you needed to reach us.
Sorrento, Campania, Italy mandjcann... the photo but I'm not sure it worked out. I guess it was my own personal reward for being here. (Sorry guys, but I do think you ALL received an invitation to come with me!)<br><br>I had been told about a vegetarian restaurant near the churches so went to check it out. They didn't open for dinner until 8pm so I killed some time at a bar. I got the chance to catch up with Carolyn and mi madre so it was the best killing ...

Positano, Campania, Italy sofenjon... advice on where to go in the area. Good location to go north (to Naples and Pompeii) and south to Positano and Almafi (which is a hair raising but spectacular drive). We also took the boat to Capri which is a beautiful island and especially loved the Blue Grotto. First time we ran into some rain and we were at Pompeii for about 2 hours before it started raining .. even ...
Naples, Campania, Italy pathengerBuon Giorno! This morning we woke up in Napoli or commonly known as Naples! This would be the port where you could take tours to Mt. Vesuvius or the ruins of Pompeii, the famed Roman city that was buried by volcanic ash after the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79AD. Or, tours were available to the beautiful coastal areas of Sorrento and Capri! Today, we opted to remain in Naples and tour the city ...
Naples, Campania, Italy ricknelsie... Or maybe we just hunted with our eyes. lol As it turned out, we found a little cafe burrowed deep in the buildings of Capri, and there we enjoyed massive burgers and pints of cold beer. Call me crazy, but that was the way to end the show! I actually felt like a celebrity that night. People taking pictures with me, recognizing me, going out of my way for whatever I needed. So strange ...
Anacapri, Italy matt.lawrence... confusing streets until past sunset. There were still cars squeezing through the narrow streets somehow. It was such a small quaint village, I loved exploring it and finding my own way. When we finally got there we discovered that there were about 6 other CIMBAllers staying there. (Dave, Luke, Ferris, T'Lane, ...?) Our room was really humid and damp. Strange. I was ...
Anacapri, Italy aunruhku... became what it is today and on what a great toll colonialism took on the continent. I definitely recommend it - it is quite a fast read. Now we are in Italy. I have previously been to Italy twice, though not since 1999. I am in shock at how expensive it has become! I knew Tanzania would be expensive, but we did not do all that much research before coming to Italy since we both had been before. I am in total sticker shock. When we arrived in Rome ...
