... Renee, and it was great to have a coffee and share travel tales. Bilbao – Roma – Cagliari. Here we are in Sardegna. Much to the horror of our boys and the driver we have picked up the biggest 9 seater bongo van in existence (without power steering I might add). It will be very much like a 60's experience of cruising around this beach clad island in a volkswagon ! !

    ... a massive deserted hotel. But hit 11pm and all the oldies rolled on into the bar, and an atrocious cover band kicked off with a Boy George cover. Wow. Unique.     Dominating the site is a Nuragic tower. These are everywhere along the Sardinian coast are the monumental symbols of the island. These nuraghe are supposedly a mystery as to their function and the origins of the people who built them. There are 7000 of these towers still visible some as high as 20metres.

    ... We couldn't help but imagine the poor "slaves" who had to carry up all the rocks and build the fortress! It was quite impressive and worth the climb which was not that hard!
