Firstly there seems to be some confusion over which ramada is which. We were at the one on I drive next to wild jacks walking distance to wet and wild. On arriving we found that the bath was full of plaster with a matching hole in the ceiling. We were going to complain but got caught up in the queue with everyone else off of our plane with bigger complaints so decided to cut our losses and stay where we were. That said, the place (other than the rooms) was not too bad. A tip I would give fellow brits is to tip and tip well, I hate this, its nothing short of bribery but the fact is it seems to be the way over there. they seem to on sub standared wages. I followed suit after watching an American do it whilst complaining, there was no room to move him into to until he slid a $20 across the counter and amazingly one became free. I did likewise and never had to queue or be ignored the rest of the trip. I did discover that you can only book transport the day before for disney etc and often there was no room on the buses at the time you wanted, for example you leave disney after the fireworks and on return to the hotel you cant book your "free" transport because their is no room. Again, on our second to final day, an American sliding across the $20 and booking transport for the next full two weeks!. If you want that legendary American customer service you will get it in spades as long as you are prepared to pay for it. In fairness to the yanks, I did see so many fellow Brits not tipping at all, I understand that waiters etc get taxed on estamated tips (nuts I know). So get your hand in your pocket and when in rome etc. That way they might stop making it up by other means. Overall, had a fantastic time, the parks are spectacular and the locals are generally good natured and friendly. Talk to them about the uk and the rest of world, some very ,,er,, intersting views. Would recomend Oelando to anyone before the visa requirements get too silly, dont worry about the hotel, you wont be there long enough. Who's 4000 miles to sit in the hotel all day.
One of the worst!
Find somewhere else to stay! The first night we were there, we had to walk ver far all the way to the end of the property (luggage in tow) to a dark, dirty, incredibly old looking room. Water stains on the ceiling, musty smell, small spot of blood or ketchup (not sure what it was, either way it shouldn't have been there) on our bed spreads. An enormous insect crawled across our dresser and we asked to be moved into the tower. They charged us an additional $10 a night for the "upgrade." Once there, the rooms were better, but still old, ugly and dirty. The carpets are completely worn out. Pool was always crowded.
Additionally, the transportation to Disney was by far the worst experience of our entire trip. Not only did we have to pay for it, but we spent hours waiting around for pick up. It was always completely full (unpleasant when you have to sit amid 15 sweaty, tired other passengers,) and the drivers had very bad attitudes. They just stood around for sometimes 20 minutes talking on their walkie-talkies, just taking their time. When they finally did decide to drive, they were very rude and arrogant. We left the Magic Kingdom about half an hour before pick up and went to the shuttle area. One of the drivers was there already, but he said he was picking up another group who had called him. We asked if we could just wait in the van, since it was raining out, and he said no! If you do decide to stay here, rent a car if your going to Disney, because their shuttle "service" alone is enough to ruin an entire trip.
What a cockroach infested dump
stayed at this hotel for 1 night. was booked in for 14 nights, however on entering the room it was a disgrace. it was dirty, foisty, and riddled with cockroaches. my 12 year old child freaked out. the staff were rude and uncaring. i moved out and stayed at the crowne plaza, which was 100 times better. take my advice and do not go to this place it is unbelievably bad.
This is one nasty hotel. Spend an extra ten dollars a night and stay somewhere clean.
Bit out of date good location
Went to Florida in september 2003 with partner and 9 year old it was there first time to usa we stayed at ramada on international the location is great and a whole load of new shops and eateries down the rd mr wongs is fantastic value the hotel is not up to the standards i have come to expect in florida in general it was a bit shabby and the ice machines on our floor hardly ever worked decor and electricals still in 1970,s however ok for the price and clean and friendly enough very cheap inclusive price for safe and transport to disney which was very good free to universal nice pool and little friendly bar so as long as you dont expect to modern in all ok
Superb location and Dennys right across street. Rooms basic but clean. pool very small and crowded usually with light fitting floating on top. Corridoors were used as a skateboarding park and very noisy--luckily we were always shattered after a good day at parks comp bus to universal studios a bonus although walking distance is 1/2 mile. breakfast non existent. bar very cosy would i stay again--yes i would due to location and budget price
Absolutely, excellent, fantasmic, coooool
Try the Spiderman ride at Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, first time you go on you will want to go on again and again as me and my husband did in May 2003, an absolutely fantastic cool ride.We come to Orlando Florida every year and no matter were we go or were we stay we have never been disappointed. This year we stayed at The Ramada Inn on International Drive, although basic it is a very clean and well mainted motel, fantastic value..
Ramada Resort on International Drive Stay Away
We have stayed in tents that were cleaner and had less bugs than this" RESORT". Upon arriving at this hotel we were given a room that was so dirty we would not even put our bags on the carpet. My husband went and asked to see the manager to our surprise there is no manager or so we were told. They said they would upgrade our room to the tower, upgade what a joke. The roof was caving in, the picture over my daughters bed had broken glass in it, we had ants in our bathroom, we never had enough bath towels and when I asked for more they asked me why? Every guest we spoke with had the same problem, dirty rooms, and no manager to address the problems. My advice be afraid very afraid of this hotel.
The Ramada was nice
I had reservations for the Ramada Resort and Conference Center for the weekend of June 14-16. Well, when I got there, there was a mix up and I had to stay at another Ramada further down on International Drive. I must admit I wasn't expecting much since the price I was paying per night was dirt cheap, but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was nice and neat and clean. There were plenty of towels and there were no roaches or critters to contend with. I ended up staying at the Ramada Inn on June 14 and the Ramada Resort and Conference Center on June 15 and at both hotels the staff was very apologetic for getting my reservations mixed up and very accommodating to me. I would stay at both hotels again.
Not at all what I expected
The Ramada Inn All Suites on International Drive was not at all what I expected. It doesn't come close to being nearly as nice as the pictures on their website looked! Our room was not the cleanest - the kitchen floor was sticky the whole stay, the fixtures in the bathrooms were rusty, the walls were dirty, there were not many utensils and the ones they had were dirty. The screened in patio/porch overlooked the parking lot - which was a disappointment. The swimming pool was more like a hottub (the actual hottub wasn't working while we were there) - which was to my enjoyment but not my children's. I was also hoping that their continental breakfast would give a bit more variety - we ate there 4 days and they had the exact same thing every morning - same kinds of ceareal, same variety of muffins, etc. It got a little old!Since I always thought that Ramada had a pretty reputable name, I was extremely disappointed!

So with a bright and early start, Maeghan and I began our day by checking out of the hotel and filling up the car with our assorted goodies from the weekend. After we managed to find the correct bus we made our way towa...
I woke up at 9:00 this morning and hung out around the house. Mom and dad were sitting out by the pool so I took the laptop over to the kitchen table and typed up my trip report from the day before. It had been a long day so it took me a good two hours to get it all typed up. When I was done I started getting ready. I took a shower at 11:00 ...Orlando, Florida, United States babieemelly
I woke up at 8:00 this morning, but I laid in bed and fell back asleep on and off a few times. From 10:00 to 11:00 I listened to my MP3 player in bed before I finally got up at 11:00. I went downstairs and mom and dad had gone shopping so I sat in the living room and watched a Laguna Beach special on MTV.
