... fever, we finally made it to Kamienna Góra. We decided not to spoil a good thing and filled our faces full of food and vodka for the last 3 days of our trip. Just like i'd had encounted throughout our time in Poland, nobody spoke english, so charades became the most handy communication device with a few words of German thrown in. As Anita's uncle pointed out, he speaks Polish, German, Bulgarian and Czech fluently because he'd worked in those ...
Kamienna Góra, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Poland andrew.campbell... Mountains is part of the larger Sudetes range. Its highest peak is Sniezka which stands on the border between the Poland and Czech Republic - at a height of 1602 meters above sea level. The mountains are wonderful for trekking and ski. Large areas of the mountains are preserved as National Park.

We crossed into the Czech Republic and decided to follow the country along the mountains that border Germany in the north, there seemed a few national parks and nice driving routes along the way so we just hoped it was a quite area and we could just relax and explore. We have been to Prague a couple of times its a great city probably one of our favorite in Europe but this time we just decided to stick to the countryside and see a bit more of life out of the city ...
Liberec, Bohemia, Czech Republic pihollandal the former eastern bloc countries make for good travel,, but the one that i return to is the czech republic,, mainly to the north [north bohemia],liberec, harrochov, cesky raj, but a trip or two to moravia is also worth taking,,. during the communist times it was an eye opener, now also as the people wish for the return of those times, they knew where their bread was coming from, and the upgrades fron old skoda to super fast motorcars,, ah they stilll are crazy on the roads
Liberec, Bohemia, Czech Republic jefaTento vikend sme s kamosmi v Liberci na severe Ciech. Prisli sme sem rovno zo San Diega, tak je to trochu teplotny sok. Ked sme s Dzozim odchadzali zo San Diega bolo krasnych 26 stupnov, ale ked sme prisli do Liberca bolo len okolo desat stupnov a poriadny vietor. Ale ako sa hovori, poriadne planovanie robi ...
Liberec, Bohemia, Czech Republic mozi... of pleasure, prayer, and balance in life. Hornet Flight by Ken Follet An espionage-action novel set in WWII Denmark by the author of Pillars of the Earth. A pretty eclectic mix, which is how I like it. I actually NEED to re-read the Chesterton because it was such a paradoxical page turner that I am still trying to wrap my head around it. Still, I look forward to Krakow in a few days and the promise of some new reading material.

Szklarska Poreba, Western Poland, Poland bogna... further on to the most famous site in Karpacz apart from the mountains - the Wang Chapel. This remarkable wooden chapel was built at the turn of the 12th century on the bank of Lake Wang in southern Norway, and sold to a Prussian king in 1841 because it was too small for the local congregation. It was carefully dismantled piece by piece before being shipped to Berlin, and then Karpacz (a part of Germany at the time) where it was reassembled over a period of two years. It is the ...
Karpacz, Western Poland, Poland will9/10/07 Day 71 Today we travelled into the Czech Republic to a town called Trutnov just across the boarder near the alps. it's a cold day but the roads were gratefully uneventful and we arrive in the afternoon. Having no currency we headed off to find a bank and the shops, we get out 2000 Zakona and only get 2 notes, the problem is we have no idea what the exchange is, and can only guess. We do the shopping for just over 1000z and wonder if it was a ...
Trutnov, Czech Republic rob.jenn... AIESEC. I went there with Pawel and Wojtek and met really great people from both Akademia Ekonomiczna and Politechnika. It was an important point in my personal development as it was probably the first time in my life I got exposed to a diverse international environment and had a chance to meet people from multiple countries, also outside of Europe, in such a short period of time. I learned that the world can ...
