      Beautiful Bodrum

Bodrum is peaceful seaside city in Southern Turkey. All of the houses are stark white, so one is immediately reminded of Greece. Here, these little homes dot the hillsides which descend down to the tranquil shores. Even in winter the water is warm and comfortable. The streets are loaded with tourist shops, exciting looking pubs and clubs (however they were depressingly empty during our stay). We enjoyed our mornings sipping cappuccinos with our feet in the sand; it ...

Visited the ruins of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, Halicarnassus. It would have been a beautiful ancient city once. Unfortunately the main building, the Mausoleum, was dismantled and the stones stolen to build other cities over the years and the Mausoleum robbed by pirates and others.

Another four hour trip on the bus. Most trips seem to take four hours with stops and numerous call ins to other Otogar or bus stations.

Flat countryside for the first three hours through fertile agricultural land full of mandarin trees and other crops.

We passed through lots of small towns, many of them with basic style housing and unmade ...

      Wonderful Village in the hills.

Selick village on a hill is our first stop of the day a somewhat chilly start, and about an hours coach ride through huge Mandarin orchards. Then we wind deep up in to the heart of the mountains, the air getting fresher and chilly. A fantastic village with narrow winding paths and roads, made of cobblestones and rocks, a heritage site so no new builds traditional houses constructed the same way they have for centuries. ...

... she isn't actually that bad once you get to know her. Although small doses are enough for me and my newest best friend at the moment.

The ferry from Samos to Patmos took 3.5hrs. Now floating around the Greek Islands may sound fantastic, but I can assure you that the indoor seating (which at least had cushions) was as stuffy as hell, and the outdoor seating was in the form of ...
