Wine is Santorini’s main export, and all the grape varieties how here are unique to Santorini as they thrive in the volcanic soil. The vines don’t stand up on trellises like were used to seeing. Instead, the vines are trained and weaved into their own ‘basket’, which then allows the leaves to point inward and shelter the grapes - and also protects them from ...

There is a jacuzzi that is part of the hotel area, so we spent a good amount of time soaking in there and taking in the view some more. We also managed to fit in a nice long nap today. It was a super relaxing day and we were able to get some good Greek food. It doesn't compare to Italy's food, but the view is amazing and I'm loving Greece so far.

... really starting to slow down, and already many of the restaurants had closed for the winter. Even Villa Ilias was due to close at the end of the month, and the flight, ferry and faster catamaran options which are daily during summer, had been cut to once a week. It is crazy to think that such a tourist oriented place literally shuts down for almost 6 months of the year. Mary our receptionist was headed back to Athens in a few weeks hoping to be able to find some kind of ...

... Yes! The sand at Black Beach was black! We had a very relaxing afternoon swimming in the crystal clear water and enjoying the warm sunshine. We also visited Oia again, this time we saw a donkey carrying luggage to someone's hotel! Why do they use donkeys to transport people and goods in a town like Oia? Have a look at my photos and see if you can figure it out! Next stop is the island of Ios! From Miss ...
