    ... was seen as the best in the world and the fortunes of many towns in Scandinavia depended upon it. What is is is quite simple – heat pine to high temperatures in a closed, oxygen poor environment and under pressure and it yields lots of black tar and charcoal. Simple. Actually, over the years the process was refined greatly but that is the essence and the tar was used as a preservative for roofs, ship’s timbers and ropes as well as for diverse medical products.

    Whilst indeed there was very little wind for most of the night, there was still sufficient to move the boat somewhat, which in turn moved the chain, the noise of which transmitted itself into our cabin, resulting in a disturbed night. I knew that we weren't drifting, indeed I’d set the anchor alarm on the GPS (the GPS sounds if you move outside a given tolerance limit, which I’d set to 40m) but I doubt if there’s a sailor on this planet ...

    Bit tardy on updates but Internet is bust here so using phone. Tried fixing it myself but as all screens are in Finnish didn't get very far Hyvaa Lltaa (Thats Finnish for Good Evening) When it's not raining it's wet or is about to rain however there are no riots unless it's for the birch twigs during the sauna.     Left Helsinki in bright sunshine. Arrived in next place and guess what; it's rained solid. Unit is very nice and the location is lovely. Next to a lake. Lots of young fit people around as the place is also a sports institute. We're a little out of place. Forgot to mention Yvonne bought yet another scarf ...
