After another wonderful lunch and needed nap, I was given a private tour of Lechovo’s museum by the mayor and vice-regent of the "county." It’s a collection of local artifacts ...

... footbridge. The Panagias Porfiras Monastery at the farther end was closed by a chain, but Frances had no trouble getting in, while I hid in the weeds and then joined her inside. Not well preserved, but atmospheric and worth breaking into.

Heading on toward Psarades, the stand of ancient junipers at the top of the hill was worth a stop. Psarades was the only spot that managed to feel touristy, even without tourists. Several local gentlemen vied to take us onto ...

... shade causing a cooler temperature.

We ate lunch on a moored floating platform at the Restaurant Ostrovo. Had a Macedonian salad [cukes, tomatoes, onions and peppers] and a Skopska beer [250]; have just 75 denars left. Discussion about Greek refreshments, Kindles and Ian's love of trains consumed the time. Had to chuckle when the English said chips/french fries with a fried egg was a good combo.

The ungodly sum of 35M was allotted for souvenir ...
