We failed "Snowman Building 101" !!!
... noted it was -6°.
A beautiful sunny day was begun by our feeble attempts to build a snowman - we assumed it was such an easy thing to do - wrong! The snow just would not stay together - kept sliding off whenever we tried to build it up. After about an hour Gregor tells us that the snow is too powdery for building snowmen - the moisture comtent is very low (feels bloody cold and wet to me!!!) this makes us feel better ...

Had planned a deviation to see Gmunden - a recommended visit to a beautiful lakeside town -however snow was falling so heavily as to restrict vision to approx 100m so while we might have been in Gmunden we would not have seen it! We may be able to visit on our way back to Germany next week if the weather is somewhat better. -5° was the coldest temperature the car recorded for us this morning - warmed up to 1° in sunny Styria ...

... it. Today was also our first day without the other BoBers, and it went surprisingly well! No stabbings (yet) and we found the city with ease. Of course the accomodation was screwed and we had to dash frantically across the city to sort it but...we're here and in the correct hostel for once!
