... Su Laoshi for teaching me bus stop! Mike relieved to find me safely with the bus but heartbroken that the ice cold Diet Coke he had managed to procure for me from the cafe I couldn't find had succumbed to the 36 degree heat. Have asked Mike not to lose me again! Government silk factor interesting but not as good as the rickshaw ride through the old streets. Mike a bit wary and feeling guilty ...

The bar served good drinks and McDonald's food disguised as their own menu items (seriously).

We had a smaller group today, but we sang many English and Chinese songs.

This time, the big hit was "Girlfriend".

Everyone knew the words and was singing along.

    Another great experience.

    3 more days till Beijing!

... and literally right next door. Well, sort of. We had to cross a major, congested street in a place without a crosswalk area (not that a crosswalk really matters here anyway). We were practically attached to the hip of a local woman who helped us ”Frogger” our way across the street to the Silk Museum or at least what we think was the Silk Museum.

Silk-making was founded in Suzhou. It comes from the cocoons of the silk worm. We were shown demonstrations of how ...
