... rate for one litre Avgas more than a good Dinner at the best Restaurant in Town..... absurd ! In this part of the World Private Flight is an huge undertaking needing almost a full time Operation Management... well I do not have that in my Adventure nor do I think it would be justified therefore I have to do it myself trying to juggle... 04.8.2014 Kupang (Timor), Indonesia Km: 70825 Not get ahead / Komme nicht mehr weiter

After a few hours of sleep we arrive at 3 o'clock in the morning in Kupang. Of course, the stupidest time to find a hotel. Because today is National Day in Switzerland I light the fireworks, which I bought a few days ago. Then we put our mattresses on the port and try getting some sleep under the open sky. Then we look for a hotel and rest the rest of the day.

This is just a quick entry as we are on our way out of Darwin harbour and we might not have coverage for long. 30% of the population live below the poverty line in Timor and I was going to join them! I took the cheap 1 hour flight from Ende in Flores and landed at Kupang, the capital city, a crazy place full of motorbikes, bemos and buses driving at ridiculous speeds weaving in and out and not caring whether anyone got killed in the process.
