... gigantic things and to be honest, I don't blame them. The poor things can't even eat two days before labour because there's not enough space for the egg and food. Imagine that! One kiwi recently just laid an egg which is exciting news but the Birdlife keeper isn't too convinced it will do any good. To be really successful the male kiwi needs to sit on it for at least the first few weeks as manual incubation isn't successful in the slightest. But as the keeper said "the male loves ...

The most random and useless thoughts kept entering my mind and despite my best efforts to relax I simply could not. I tried listening to relaxing music and that didn't work. Before I knew it, it was 11pm and Daisy was coming to bed, do you have any idea how frustrated I was? I was livid. I'd missed out on some good ...

So the past few days have been busy busy busy, so I've decided to write them all into one entry. On Sunday we arrived into Queenstown and noticed immediately the drop in temperature... Time to dig out the woolly hat! We arrived at what we thought was the closest stop to our hostel before being told that although it looked that way on the route map, the hostel was actually a few roads up the mountain. After a strong uphill walk we made it to butterfli ...
