    ... steep hills and we got 6.7 mpg the last fill up. Nice to have mechanic on board!

    Monday morning, June 29. We had bacon and our last egg this morning as we know we can't take eggs into Canada tomorrow, or any kind of raw poultry for that matter.

    ... wheaty with coriander) and Jan some scary looking stout. There is a theme running though this trip, I do hope Canada can continue what the Oregon and Washington have started! We had a chat with a couple of the locals in the pub, an ex-commercial diver with stories to tell about Dubai, Melbourne and living in a decompression chamber for 101 days. All good fun.

    ... ferry terminal at Fairhaven. The historic town of Fairhaven is interesting and we hope to get to discover more tomorrow before embarking.
    Used a few taxis and they ALL speak English and have been most helpful. The locals are really friendly and helpful, this is a nice town and people seem happy.

    More once we reach Alaska-'north to Alaska as the rush is on!!

    ... us and 10 suitcases to go, not counting Sean and Stephanie who were somewhere en route. The most they could possibly take in their tiny car was 3. By this time the car from the other hotel had returned and 2 of us got a lift from them. Then our hotel's car got us to the ferry, but Sean and Stephanie were still (duck) walking with about half a mile left, so she went back to get them. We all made it, but with barely a minute to spare, It was anti-climatic ...

    ... are under what is no doubt a perpetual state of restoration. The contrast of 2000 year old marble and 20 year old scaffolding and cranes is unfortunate, but necessary. We did not have time to go to the Museum, but expect to do so once we return to Athens after the cruise. So to board the ship, docked about a 20 minute drive from the hotel.
