Left for belgium this morning. Just entered the french speaking country and I read about some caves in liege, belgium that I will try to find. And then onto brussels.. an intereting thing in europe is all the public bathrooms cost money to use... here are some pictures of the roads. The sign that looks like a ghost busters sign means theres no speed ...

... evening. We ended up being stranded in a town in the middle of Nowhere, Germany and ended up staying the night in an odd little inn. We got up early the next morning to catch a 6:30am train and were back on our way. After a full 24 hours of traveling, we finally reached our hostel and were able to check in to our rooms at long last. It was a total fluke of a stop and although we never intended to, we added a pin in our map somewhere in northern Germany.

The plan today was to visit the museums and churches of Maastricht. That plan went out the window in five minutes after walking out the door. It was a gorgeous sunny day, way to nice to be spending inside stuffy old buildings. Looking at the map, there is a place called Bastions Hoge Fronten, on the other side if town. It looked like another parkland so I thought I should go take a look. ...

... to run the limestone mine. The tour was awesome. The mines have no power so they took us down with gas lamps. About 20 people and 3 lamps to light the way. That made it very realistic. It was very dark down there. At one point the guide dared us all to walk along one corridor, with no lights, which of course almost everybody did. We could only feel our way along the wall, in the darkness, and it was pitch black. ...
