... was pretty fascinating . One gentleman manned this entire booth. He made the noodles by stretching his dough over and over - twisting it, and pulling it further and further. Eventually, he would have made the dough into thin noodles - which he cut off with his chopsticks, dropped into boiling water, cooked them briefly, dropped some in your bowl and topped it off with broth. ... During that weekend, we ate very well, there were a lot of fruits and nuts, and the meals Barry's parents cooked for us were plentiful. I also tasted the best 炒面 (Chao Mian, or fried noodles) I've ever had. When I thought the weekend couldn't get any better, we were served Chinese tea, and it was definitely the greatest tasting tea I've ever tasted.

Will and I got the 11am train from Nanjing to come down to Ningbo to stay with Silvie, the CP of Ningbo Xiaoshi IB School. We spent a lovely afternoon having lunch at Pizza Pino by the river, and then walking along the river to have a cocktail at the Marriott Hotel.

... s birthday, so Eric and Barry surprised him at a KTV, which is a very popular place in China where you can rent rooms to do Karaoke. There was cake and snacks and we just sang songs in Chinese and English all night long. This night was definitely some of the most fun I had since I arrived in China, and I'm looking forward to spending more time with Barry and the gang
