... pass�es ici, au Cozy Nest Homestay, resteront un excellent souvenir. Nous discutons avec nos h�tes pendant deux heures: vie locale, travail, famille, mariage, tout y passe. On nous offre le th� et � d�ner. Wengchuk et sa femme ont ouvert cette chambre d'h�tes il y � juste 1 an. Il s'occupe d'organiser des randonn�es p�destres et cyclistes dans les montagnes du coin. Ne pas avoir pu participer � l'un de ces treks restera un regret, mais nous avions d�cid� d�s le d�but de zapper ...

... Darjeeling: the 'road' looks like a river bed for half of it and you travel about 1 km/hr to make sure the holes and boulders don't break up your chassis. The views over the surrounding landscape and tea plantations are amazing - my pictures will never do them justice!

The school is built on tea plantation land and is a 2 storey building with simple classrooms and black boards. The children were beautiful and amazing and super friendly! i immediately got surrounded ...

... very hard! The last 400m of the ascent takes places over just 1km, with it being skewed towards the start of that km.

Day 3: Namche Bazar (3440m) – Kunde (3840m) – Kumjung (3780m) - Namche Bazar (3440m) [Acclimatisation day]

To help acclimatise, we trekked up to Kunde and Kumjung to enjoy the views. It looks very much like rural England! Farm land divided with brick walls and small brick cottages along the paths.

... there was a guy there who showed us around and had us carry out a number of weird activities (walk around the temple 3 times, climb into a cave and bow your head, hold out your hand and take a piece of string for each member of your family,. eat some strange sweet thing....) and told us that this would bring health and happiness towards all our family! of course, upon completion of our initiation into this cult we were asked for a donation, and a further donation ...

... including two fast asleep toddlers! Having no spare bunks that I could move to, I was faced with an awful dilemma, do I try and survive the 16 hour journey without a bed, (I was already the walking dead after getting up at 3.30am the last few nights) or do I turf them off and take the bed I had paid for and reserved. Answers on the back of a postcard please? I chose the latter, and was convinced that everyone in the carriage hated me, one woman in particular was looking at me ...
