It is hard to improve on perfection!

This is an absolutely stunning property in the diplomatic area of the city, with amazing service. There is a bit of a revolution going on at the moment in this country, and there are hardly any other guests. I'm relishing the royal treatment! Could not be happier with this choice, especially since it is walking distance to Maidan Square and the Opera House. My only thought, sitting here writing this late at night in my room, is that the room could use a few more lamps. But that is a very minor thing overall.

I did enjoy a 3 nights twin/double accommodation with my wife experiencing the unique Kiev atmosphere and the luxury Opera hotel lodging. We booked a Kiev city break with panorama-tours.eu, we were transferred from the airport and back, we are definitely very happy with all our stay at Opera hotel and the Kiev city break in general. We would like to greatly recommend getting to Kiev enjoying Kiev city break packages - lots to do and see

Strange. I expect to be cramped on the flight to Frankfurt, and then to have an empty plane from there to Kiev. It is just the opposite! I am able to stretch out across three empty seats in a 777 going to Frankfurt (United flight about 2/3 full), and then there is barely any space on the Lufthansa flight to Kiev (aboard an A321). Maybe there's a …

... America, you should start doing that. It's so good!

Well, as I wind down on my first whole day here, after almost getting lost with another AIESECer on the way back to my apartment (thank god she lives here), all I can say is that I'm having an awesome time so far here! I can't wait to see what's in store for tomorrow!

P.S. Once I have good wifi, I'll start uploading pics to here and to FaceBook :)

... After checking out the caviar, the lady offered us a sample - WOW very different and not what I was expecting. It was nice of the lady. 1 pot, she said, cost 550 US Dollars - WOW, best leave that one

After the market we spent a good part of the day walking around various buildings and churches. Some of them are works of art and inside their features preserved.

... Saint Andrew's street. It is 4 1/2 stars and the food is delicious. I tried the Okroshka which is a chilled Russian soup, as well as the rabbit casserole which is amazing. I highly recommend trying this tasteful restaurant. It's address is 34 St. Andrews street.
