This is an absolutely stunning property in the diplomatic area of the city, with amazing service. There is a bit of a revolution going on at the moment in this country, and there are hardly any other guests. I'm relishing the royal treatment! Could not be happier with this choice, especially since it is walking distance to Maidan Square and the Opera House. My only thought, sitting here writing this late at night in my room, is that the room could use a few more lamps. But that is a very minor thing overall.

I did enjoy a 3 nights twin/double accommodation with my wife experiencing the unique Kiev atmosphere and the luxury Opera hotel lodging. We booked a Kiev city break with panorama-tours.eu, we were transferred from the airport and back, we are definitely very happy with all our stay at Opera hotel and the Kiev city break in general. We would like to greatly recommend getting to Kiev enjoying Kiev city break packages - lots to do and see

    Arriving in Kiev

First arriving in Kiev was just as you would expect arriving to any other airport. The only thing different was that no one spoke in english. Neither was the signs of transportation in any, for me, understandable language. Nevertheless we managed to board the sky buss that runs in shuttle traffic to and from Kiev city centre (the central train ...

... girl from the hostel said that I should take the underground to station arsenal'na which used to be the deepest underground station in the world. The deepest now is Pyongyang (for obvious reasons) When I was at the station I found out that it was 105m below sea level. It was a long escalator ride to the surface. It took bloody ages in fact. After I made it outside it was just a short walk to the monument of the unknown soldier. This was pretty impressive. I think ...

... the weekend and it becomes a pedestrian mall. The views are just as good here, and thus it has become "cheek street". Afterwards it was to the arena, a 4 storey circle of clubs with a central amphitheatre. The beautiful and rich people were in the downstairs bar. Vlad tried to get everyone in, but we were summarily rejected! We ended up in a bar on the 1st floor, looking down at the beautiful and rich. We finally got Svetty onto the drink, which ...

    The worst airport experience ever

... to be another nightmare. We had to collect our bags and then get boarding pass and all while trying to figure out one of the largest airports in the world with only an hour and a half between flights.

At this point, I can't wait to get out of Ukraine. Our trip is now ending on a really, really sour note. But we made it through security and had some lunch (they did take credit cards) and waited for our flight--and dwelt on the nightmare to come in Frankfurt.

... we had semi planned as need to give 10 days notice to get the permissions etc. Had a shower in one of the hotel rooms here at the campsite as no facilities other than electric available to us - as the first guests of the campsite of the season. Hair feels a lot better - especially after wearing a warm hat for days - real 'hat hair'!.
