This is an absolutely stunning property in the diplomatic area of the city, with amazing service. There is a bit of a revolution going on at the moment in this country, and there are hardly any other guests. I'm relishing the royal treatment! Could not be happier with this choice, especially since it is walking distance to Maidan Square and the Opera House. My only thought, sitting here writing this late at night in my room, is that the room could use a few more lamps. But that is a very minor thing overall.

I did enjoy a 3 nights twin/double accommodation with my wife experiencing the unique Kiev atmosphere and the luxury Opera hotel lodging. We booked a Kiev city break with panorama-tours.eu, we were transferred from the airport and back, we are definitely very happy with all our stay at Opera hotel and the Kiev city break in general. We would like to greatly recommend getting to Kiev enjoying Kiev city break packages - lots to do and see

    Kyiv - Independence Day

The day started at a leisurely pace as I intended to write up this blog but the wifi was slow and I was even slower so it didn't happen. Breakfast was a surprise in that you sat down at a blank table and a young man plonked various little plates in front of you from time to time. Cubes of scrambles egg referred to as omelette, tomato, cheese, processed meat, buckwheat, pastries, and so on. They came with muttered comments in Ukraine with ...

... Once that was all in order, we pulled out of the station and were on our way to Moscow. At this point, we didn't actually know that the Ukrainian man spoke such good English, so we tried to introduce ourselves in Russian. His response was "In Moscow most people speak English." Clearly we were fooling nobody - probably because we read it out of a phrase book! Once we had established that he spoke English, we were able to chat away. We found out about ...

30th I woke up this morning with the shivers and could not get rid of them. Felt crook all day so we didn’t go on our tour after all. We stayed in all day with me getting in and out of bed not a real good time for the both of ...

Besarabsky Rynok (Бесар 072;бськи й ринок) What a fun place to visit and photograph! We wondered around inside the market for maybe 15 minutes taking pictures and turning down offers of samples of caviar. For a market, it was fairly empty and the comment we heard most often ...

... could probably do with a wash. Fool.

After the wildness of Russia, Kiev has been a nice chilled out pace its nothing like Russia at all. Its probably closer to Helsinki than anything else. More of a sleazy vibe though, as the term resturant is quite vague in what is offers. Similar to that “resturant” in Moscow, that’s menu consisted of Russian, Ukrainian, Asian, Blonde, Brunette, etc.
No one seems to work here. They just hang around ...
