... treeless. The reason is the salty strong winds along the northeast coast called Bora. On the west side it is quite the opposite. Lush green land with a lot of Oleaders, Lavender and Thyme. There are many nice small and old cities and a coast full of beautiful bays where you can swim.

Departed on another wet day. After our peninsular stay we moved onto Rijeka about 450km north only 30 min from the Italian boarder. Rijeka was un upmarket port city. Young people and tourist filled the squares and the port pier. Great fir evening walks. Our apartment was small ...

We have a difficulty with one of our
credit cards today. Alison's mastercard does not work either in
teller machines or in supermarket purchases. We have my 28 degree
card but we are totally reliant on that now so it is a bit of a
concern. When we get to somewhere we have a good solid internet
connection we will skype call mastercard in Australia and see if ...

I gather there was an Italian
component and groups from Slovenia and all over the former
Yugoslavia. An a'capella group in national costume did really well,
I often find single sex groups lacking the harmonic range we have
come to expect, but this group, (Zora, I think they were named) had
a contralto that really filled in the harmonies well.
