... spent lazing around indoors watching the weather and reading. Supper of fried potatoes, omelette and salad, washed down with a glass of wine and pudding of icecream, meringues and fruit. No outside sitting this evening, its steady rain and looks like its set in for a few hours. Dont think our water wading shoes are going dry out very soon. Tomorrow we will spend not on our feet!! Plan to drive to Guzelyurt, take in their market and enjoy the scenery.
A street in hilly Lefkara. Not much traffic despite the fact that the village is supposed to be a touristy spot, famous for its lace and silverwork. So there is no reason why you wouldn't sit down in the street. But why are the chairs I see outside always empty?

... walking through customs, we found the Europcar desk to pick up our rental car. Just like in Israel, we were hit with another shock at the counter. In Israel, it was an undisclosed mandatory insurance fee of $14 per day. Here in Larnaca, we were stunned to be told we had to pre-pay for a tank of fuel and the price was 77.93 euros ($105.21) plus 18% tax of 14.03 euros ($18.94). Total mandatory pre-pay fuel cost = 91.96 euros ($124.15). Holy smokes!!!!

In this way it is never tiring and depending on the time you go there is always something new. ‘Meze’ is not only for those fond of meat but there are many vegetarian dishes to choose from as well. The meze variety is rich and the small plates keep coming and coming.
