EARLY wake up at 4.30 to get ready, have a snack from our packed breakfast (juice, apple and a danish) and then taxi to the airport. Even at this time of the morning it was light. I think we only saw darkness a couple of times during the whole trip. Another glorious blue sky morning and a crisp 16 degrees already at 6am. The taxi driver took us the wrong way, I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but I refused to pay him any more than it should have cost and Kirsty gave him an earful for taking us the wrong way! We put a final load of washing on to make the most of having a washing machine and hopefully to keep us going until ...

... she saw NO cornfields just a beautiful 10 km drive along the canal in downtown Abu Dhabi. Then it was off to Emirates Palace. The TNT's toured the grounds and fountains, the Rolex and smoke shops, lounge and stairways. The 'Gold to Go' vending machine caught our fancy! It accepts all credit cards and at the push of a button you can own your own gold bar! On returning to the underground parking lot Carol chose not to get too close to the Bentley for fear of ...
