... Dagen var i lördags (igår), som började redan på fredagskvällen då vi hela familjen hängde på REIs flagship store (en suverän butik för allt outdoor liv) nere i stan. Ola behövde telemarksskidor (hade med sig telemarkspjäxor och slalomskidor från Sverige, ingen bra kombination) och jag behövde en hjälm. Kom hem med det och massor med skidstrumpor. Fick också provat senaste modellen av telispjäxor, och efter det är jag helt säker på vad jag önskar mig ...

... behind tomorrow and get back to van living. We are heading into Boulder in the morning to do some exploring and hit the first brewery in Colorado, for our stately brewery visit. From there were going to drive to northern Colorado and camp it up and at one of trusty KOA's making us that much closer to South Dakota.

Woke up this morning after a decent nights sleep…got to sleep pretty quickly because I was exhaused but I kept dreaming and waking up a lot. Had some breakfast and the necessary coffee and we started our day.

... like hiking mountains, hell last weekend they did 2 14ers and a 13er. Hello 3 mountains in a short weekend should have been a hugh red flag that these silly women are obviously slightly mental and have some crazy thin air fetish. Ok so let’s start from the beginning on Sat, I ask Deb about the two choices one was a 14er that was 6 miles round trip located in Buena Vista (this one would have required getting up at like 4AM) and the other was a couple of 13ers ...

This was by far my favorite part of our trip to Colorado. We rented bikes from Charter Sports ($14)

We spent the rest of the afternoon/evening exploring the shops in the Vail Village-which is an adorable German architecture looking resort town. We had dinner at Up The Creek
which is more of an "up-scale" restaurant. It was a little harder to find as it was set off of the main road directly on the creek.

... Ellsworth. We took the boys sledding on Sunday, and they had a blast! We skied four out of the six days. Kristi finally skied enough to pick up some confidence. Thankfully, we were able to ski without any injuries aside from Darren's broken rib (so he thinks).

This year we skied for two weeks and both spring skiing and some good snow. We skied Breckenridge, Keystone, Vail, and Arapahoe Basin. One day Peter and Ron took the day off and went fly fishing with a guide in Silverthorne. It was cold and they caught one fish but they still had a good time. Mike and Laurie joined us for a couple of days which was great!

How to Eat in a Restaurant When you walk into a restaurant of the "Please Wait to Be Seated" variety, do not assume you can have your pick of the tables. If a hostess seats you somewhere, I assure you she has a reason for it. You can ask if you can have a different table, if you must, but it's probably a better idea not to. Chances are pretty good that the table you want to move to instead is in a section whose waitress just got four new tables and won ...
