Pre-Cruise stay

This was a great hotel with a huge room with a view of the St. John River. We had dinner at a Chart House which was about 2 miles away - and it was one of my favorite dinner experiences. Highly recommended.

Historical Traveler Reviews of Omni Jacksonville Hotel

The entire staff was wonderful from the beginning to the end!!!

from A TripAdvisor Member
The entire staff at the Omni hotel in Jacksonville, Florida were wonderful. From my visit I learned from the knowledgeable Shawanna Thompkins-Assistant front office manager who resolved my issues professionally, they will be doing a huge makeover of the rooms getting ready for super bowl 2005. I truly must give thanks to Laurie Kopstad- Director of revenue management and reservation - my son thanks you for the cookies and grapes and his mom thanks you also. And we will see them again next year for monster truck superbowl.....

I've stayed at many Omni Hotels, and could not believe that The Omni of Jacksonville was trash! From the outside it looks decent...From the lobby it looks great, but the rooms are trashy, and the employees are nasty and rude. I witnessed one lady asking questions to the front desk clerk, and the clerk appeared to be annoyed. They also seemed to be under staffed.

Not up to the Omni Standard

from TheWoodsTxTraveler
Recently stayed at the Omni Jacksonville. I was told many times the hotel was "close" to Alltel Stadium and even though it was not far away, the Adam's Mark is closer and newer. This Omni is rundown, the front desk staff was not friendly, directions were horrible and different each time you would ask someone.

No hotel directory or room service menu in the room. Dirty bathrooms, small television that had major reception problems.. Took forever to valet my car, I had to hunt down the valet each time. Room service was alright, food was ok. This hotel does not meet the standard for Omni.

It is rundown and service is not great.

I don't think I will stay here again. The Adam's Mark is very close, new and I have heard nicer than the Omni.

Not Pleased with the Omni

I recently had to spend several weeks at the Omni-Jacksonville Hotel for some training for my job. The hotel staff was not very professional nor competent.

Upon my arrival with lots of luggage to try to wheel in, the bellhops did not even offer any assistance.

The female Front Desk staff were rude, unfriendly, and not helpful at all. One of the Managers were just as rude.

To me, the hotel is over rated, the restaurant food was not that tasteful, it was very very over priced.

I am fortunate my company covered my expenses, because after the experience I had there, I will not ever pay to stay there on my own.

Romantic Escape package AWESOME!

We stayed at the Omni for a Bills-Jags Football game. It was right downtown, across from the Jacksonville Landing. Eating establishments like Hooters,Mexican and Steak Houses with live entertainment in the "Square". Located within steps of the water it made for a great night and fun atmosphere. The package we had included a long stemmed rose, chocolate covered strawberries, chilled champagne, a gourmet dinner for two ($75 value) at Juliettes, their OUTSTANDING restaurant inside the Hotel, along with Buffett Breakfast for two to boot. As a select guest, we received turndown service, USA TODAY & mints too. They even upgraded us to a corner suite, that was the best view in the hotel, overlooking the water..WOW. Room was nice, TV was a little small for my liking and some of Guest Services people gave us wrong directions to a few places..beware. But, overall the food was incredible and the overall experience great. I recommend it if you use the package it cost us only $190 for everything and was well worth it!

Great weekend at a great location

My daughter and I planned a "weekend retreat" and Jacksonville was the half way point for each of us to travel. We had never been to the Waterfront Landing before and decided that would be something for us to do. We also wanted to stay on the same side as the Landing. Our weekend at the Omni was perfect. Beautiful hotel, spotless and the front desk staff was wonderful and called us by name, our room was perfect and overlooked the river and the pool. I had joined the Omni Rewards Program and had received an upgrade coupon in the mail. We used that upon checkin. Also received a 50% discount to use the next visit. We will definitely use this hotel again. Located across the street from the waterfront, just a very short walk. Great time. I highly recommend this hotel.

Not up to Standards

from A TripAdvisor Member
Not near as nice as other Omni hotels that I have stayed in. Front desk staff was very unprofessional in their appearance as well as how the way they handled the fact that our "confirmed reservation" was not available upon arrival. Once we finally got our room, it was just a standard hotel room, not what you expect from omni hotels and not near as clean as it should have been. I will never stay at this hotel again and would not reccomend it to anyone.

Way below Omni standards

from A TripAdvisor Member
If you've stayed at other Omni hotels, do not except the same quality and service at this hotel! The rooms were small, out-of-date, and did not include many of the amenities the hotel's site has listed.

Disappointed, I asked to view the 'Executive King Suites'. Not impressive, they just added an old loveseat to the room. Don't waste your money. Although their web site list's complimentary shuttle, don't count on it! It's actually an airport shuttle ($24 fare) and if it happens to be around it MIGHT be able to take you somewhere. The restaurant was nice but way overpriced for this everyday traveler ($2.50 for just a cup of coffee). The only thing this hotel has is a good location. However, within two blocks is the Adam's Mark Hotel. For about the same price, you can stay at this first class hotel instead of the run down Omni. Like I said, my past experiences with Omni have been superb... this hotel just doesn't live up to the Omni name.

Great Service

from cfrankli
The staff is very service-oriented. This is a good thing. Comfortable and clean and worth the price.

Great location, great hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
We had never been to Jacksonville, so did not know much about it. The Omni hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. The guest rooms were very well appointed and food in restaurant was wonderful. We would definitely recommend.
