... for that!!! It is the 2nd oldest town in Finland - not too impressive, except that they gave us outstanding salmon and potato soup. Temppeliaukio church (church in the rock ) was literally carved out of rock in the middle of town - the ceiling was made out of 62 miles of unbroken copper tubing. ... narrow channel - but it was entertaining

The rain did not let up and as we had chosen just to do our own thing on this occasion and walk the city streets, it was a matter of staying dry and warm. The ladies managed to find a store that suited that criteria (Stockman) and by the time the levels on which clothes (ladies) were visited, some dresses and jeans were tried and tested, plus a coffee thrown in, the time to return to the ship had come around.

We saw lots of parks, many containing at least one statue of a noted Finn. I only recognized one name, the composer Jan Sibelius. We saw a tribute statue of him as well.

... I got some help from the biker who parked next to me, and a little sheepishly the bike was all secured. When I was all aboard, I followed a biker couple up to the main deck and sat down.
