          Hostel move day.

... dancing. I again became acquainted with a Brazilian girl who tried and failed to show me the bum twerking technique. My body is definitely not built for dancing. As Jens kind of promoted the club and persuaded us all to go he received a bottle of vodka and mixers for our table so the evening was very cheap. It definitely wasn't a Swedish party as I think that Jens may have been the only swede and the music was modern pop. We were all drunk however so we didn't particularly ...

          Back to Fortaleza

A travel blog entry by tnanoble on May 25, 2015

We woke up at 0500 after what felt like a very deep sleep (for once) and quickly ate breakfast and drank the last of the coffee before making our way down to the rendezvous point at 0555. We loaded our bags onto the truck and sat back to admire the last of the sand dunes of Jeri as we bumped up and down over each uneven surface. We arrived at the small town of Jijoca where we waited at the bus stop for our bus to Fortaleza to be ready for departure. The bus trip ...

          Fortaleza day 3

We had a pretty average sleep as the owners and guests were partying until 0530 and were rest loud and rowdy. We rose at 0600 to do our morning exercise to beat the heat as yesterday was still too much at 0700. We did the same routine as yesterday but Leesh's shin pain flared up ceasing it early. So we enjoyed a morning dip before the heat really kicked in and then drip dried as we made our way back to the hot box. As the breakfast was only a ...

          Fortaleza day 2

We got up at 0700 on the hope of beating the heat and squeezing in a workout before it was unbearable. We threw our gear on and made the quick jog to the beach. It was not cool at all. It was sweltering and only 0715. We managed to do a decent routine despite the heat but had to end it within half hour as it was getting ridiculous. We ducked into the water to cool off and the water was perfect. So refreshing and a great start to the day. We walked back to ...

          ... mugging a Croatian
in midfield. But friends it didn't end there. Towards the end of the game
Cameroon’s Assou Akoto head butted another player in broad floodlit night.
Curiously it was one of his own teammates! Character flaws or just reaping what
they sowed by invoking the wrath of the soccer gods? Regardless, on impulse I started singing “Na
Na Na Na Hey Hey Hey….Good bye”. It was awesome!
