    ... with frescoes in various states of repair - as well as one "living church" and home of now six nuns - who maintain the gardens and sell linens. This church has a visiting priest once a week and has some unique brightly painted frescoes. There are also a lot of stray cats there. Besides the churches - all are in ruins except the one tended by the nuns - there are the ruins of the Palace of the Despots.     ... just missing one thing.... Half the artifacts! These are being held hostage in the British museum and are unlikely to be returned. We tore ourselves from Athens to head into the Peloponnese and very cute family campsite in Kortinthos.

    Today we slept in and have been lazy as we are at sea today. We were originally scheduled to arrive at Mykonos tomorrow for the day, but there is a major storm south of us, so the ship's Captain decided to go on to Ephesus tomorrow, instead, hoping the bad weather will have a couple of days to clear out before we head south to the Greek Isles.     ... There is a jazz festival in progress and we are tempted to stay the night for a concert but in the end we continue south to Stoupa. We know there are two campsites there and the one we want is listed by the Rough Guide as one of the top ten in Greece. In a tiny bay, right by the sea with its own taverna on the beach.
